The first significant training camp injury for 2018 hit the Los Angeles Chargers on Friday, as cornerback Jason Verrett suffered a torn Achilles during a conditioning test at training camp and is likely out for the season, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported. Verrett, 27, missed the majority of the past two seasons due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, injuring it Week 3 of the 2016 season and requiring a second procedure in September 2017 because of complications. A first-round selection by the Chargers in the 2014 draft, the TCU product has already missed 39 games due to various injuries in four NFL seasons.
