Herschel Walker played running back for the Dallas Cowboys from 1986 to 1989, and returned briefly in 1996–1997. Originally a star in the USFL, Walker joined the Cowboys and immediately became a dual-threat weapon, rushing for over 1,500 yards in 1988 and contributing heavily in the passing game. He was a rare blend of speed, power, and versatility, lining up at running back, fullback, and even wide receiver. Though highly productive, his biggest impact on the franchise came after his departure.
