The San Francisco 49ers intend to sign running back Alfred Morris to a contract, coach Kyle Shanahan said during Monday's press conference. Morris, 29, needs to pass a physical before the 49ers will formally sign him. Recent injuries to running backs Matt Breida (separated right shoulder) and Jerick McKinnon (strained right calf) created a need at the position.
