Dez Bryant: It will be fun to see Cowboys fans, old teammates later this month, 'but I'm the opponent now'

Dez Bryant said he isn't sure if he'll be emotional when he plays against the Cowboys later this month.

The newest member of the New Orleans Saints spoke to reporters in the locker room for roughly five minutes after his first practice with the club on Thursday.

"I am going to be excited," Bryant said of the game at Dallas on Nov. 29. "Get to see all the Cowboys fans. I still love those guys. I love my ex-teammates. They're my family. But I'm here on a new chapter. It's going to be fun, though. But I'm the opponent now."

The three-time Pro Bowl receiver hasn't played in an NFL game since Dallas' Week 17 win in Philadelphia last season. After being released by the Cowboys in April, Bryant had interest from other teams, but he was selective in the process.

He felt the Saints were the right fit for several reasons, starting with quarterback Drew Brees, an 11-time Pro Bowler. Bryant also specifically mentioned the team's other outstanding offensive weapons, wide receiver Michael Thomas, tight end Benjamin Watson and running backs Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram.
