Sure, you know that Dan Bailey is one of the best in the business at putting the ball through the uprights, but kickers don't get the same love as other positions. We're here to change that.
Here's a few things to know about the Cowboys' all-pro kicker.
1. Eight is enough
While kickers don't get the same hype on the recruiting trail as other potential college stars, Bailey was even more under the radar than the typical high schooler. At Southwest Covenant in Yukon, Okla., Bailey played eight-man football for the Patriots. While he trained as a kicker year round with goals of kicking in college, he was also the team's top running back as a senior and contributed at linebacker.
2. Off the gridiron
Despite building his own goalposts, Bailey's time at Southwest Covenant wasn't dominated solely by football. He was also an individual state champion golfer, as well as valedictorian of his class and member of the National Honor Society. He's also proven that he can juggle a football like a soccer ball.
