Were Jerry Jones' comments on the national anthem a smokescreen for a 2-3 Cowboys team?

Kevin Sherrington, sports columnist for and The Dallas Morning News, answered your questions in a live chat recently. Here are some highlights:

Do you think Jerry made the anthem comments so it could be a diversion away from his 2-3 football team?

Sherrington: I thought it was a possibility at first, but he didn't bring it up right away post-game. And he keeps doubling down on it. I think he did it because it plays to the bulk of his fan base, and he's trying to take the lead with the other owners. They're all worried about how this is affecting business.

You think anybody raises a fist after the anthem for the Cowboys going forward?

Sherrington: No idea, but I don't think anyone's going to kneel. Not after Jerry stuck his neck out.

Who is the second best defensive lineman on the team after DeMarcus Lawrence?

Sherrington: Maliek Collins, unless David Irving continues to assert himself.

Is Jourdan Lewis the best player in the Dallas Cowboys secondary?
